Webinar Summary: Nature-Based Solutions, Climate Resiliency, and Equity: How one medium sized clean water agency in the Bay is trying to address all three!

This technical presentation will share how a medium sized wastewater utility located in a disadvantaged community in Solano County has planned, funded, and begun to implement a nature-based solutions initiative that equitably benefits the community and nature, and increases resilience to climate threats like flood and fire. You will learn about efforts such as:

1. creating community treatment wetlands that provide recreation and education opportunities, nutrient management, and sea level rise protection benefits;
2. replacing irrigated turf and ice plant with native and drought tolerant species that highlight the use of recycled water as an alternative to potable water, and
3. enhancing the community’s understanding of the District through artistic and cultural experiences and an updated interpretive and education plan.
