Wastewater Surveillance for SARS-CoV-2 Genetic Material

While SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for Covid-19, does not survive in wastewater, its genetic remnants can be detected. This allows researchers to measure the quantity of SARS-CoV-2 genes in wastewater which can provide important insights for public health agencies.
