This position is in the Records Department and will require field locating of MMWD underground pipelines and facilities using a Metro Tech 810 DX inductive locator. The work will be done in roadways and on steep slopes, which will require proper safety gear and safety practices. In addition, this work will require the ability to interpret GIS mapping data and record drawings to properly identify the location of the underground water lines. Good communications skills are necessary in order to report and resolve discrepancies found in the field. Safety Boots required. Work hours will be Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This position is for up to a six (6) month duration at the Corte Madera location. Anticipated Start Date: January-February 2022

Position Qualifications

Desired Background:
Must be 18 years old or older. Detail-oriented, Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows. Good organizational skills, data entry, GIS, basic understanding of electronics and knowledge of information technology (IT). Ability to work independently. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Must be a team player. Applicant should have recent college coursework in related field (engineering, geography, GIS, water operations, construction management, etc.)
